USITT is a not-for-profit Corporation and is operated exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.  The Institute is a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) operating under statutes in the state of New York. USITT is governed by Board of Directors who are charged with the responsibility to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of the Corporation so as to support its mission and needs.
