Awards for Exhibitions are given by USITT as a result of three events. These juried competitions are Tech Expo, Design Expo, and Tech Olympics. All are held during the Annual Conference & Stage Expo. Tech Expo and Design Expo alternate with each other and both result in exhibitions on the Stage Expo Floor. Tech Olympics is held annually during the Conference and is a popular evening session for participants and spectators.
Tech Expo
The Theatre Technology Exhibition, popularly known as Tech Expo, is mounted in alternate years at USITT's Annual Conference. Projects that demonstrate developments and creative solutions in all technical areas are juried by a distinguished panel of theatrical technicians. Prizes are awarded to the most inventive exhibitions and all entries accepted appear in the Tech Expo Catalog.

They are juried by a team of professional designers with selected designers invited to participate and exhibit their designs on the Stage Expo floor. Many of the designs are featured in TD&T.
Tech Olympics
Tech Olympics is held for students who compete as teams or individuals in seven events requiring backstage theatre skills. The events are wide-ranging and include fast changes and knot tying. Awards are given to the winning teams, individuals, and the competition's "Top Techie."
