Special Achievement Awards
USITT recognizes excellence and significant contributions in the performing arts and entertainment industry, in the areas of design and technology, through a variety of awards. These awards honor established professionals and performing arts/entertainment-focused organizations throughout the world. Any USITT member may nominate recipients for the following awards:
Award Types
The USITT Award is the highest honor given by USITT and recognizes a lifetime contribution to the performing arts community.
The Joel E. Rubin Founder's Award is given to a USITT member in recognition of outstanding and continued service to the Institute.
The Thomas DeGaetani Award honors a lifetime contribution to the performing arts in a particular region of the country, generally in the location of the Annual Conference & Stage Expo.
Honorary Lifetime Member Award honors a small but very distinguished group of individuals providing "a lifetime of continuous service to the Institute".
Special Citations recognize outstanding achievement in any area of the performing arts by an individual or an organization.
How to Nominate
Before you begin to complete the online form below you will need the following information:
- Information about the person you are nominating including name, address, e-mail and phone number.
- You must have available for upload the following documents regarding your nominee; Letter of Nomination, Bio, and up to two optional Supporting Documents.
- Nominator name, address, e-mail, and phone number. Nominator must be a member of USITT and enter membership number.
- Nominator must complete the Suggested Plaque Wording field (50 word limit). Wording will be subject to editing if deemed necessary. Deadline to nominate: September 15, 2011
- Do not click on the submit button until all information is completed and all documents are uploaded.
