Material Safety Data Sheets and applicable OSHA regulations concerning access, training, and ongoing management of these documents will be covered as well as explanations of the many abbreviations and acronyms used in this document, how to evaluate a material based on the reported data for a substance, and strategies for quickly finding the most important information in a MSDS.

Live performance on the high seas has a number of unique challenges from the power structure onboard a cruise ship to the awesome power of Mother Nature. Many of those concerns will be addressed and useful strategies for thriving in this growing employment market will be provided.

First meeting of the H&S Commission to discuss ongoing initiatives and programming for the 2009 and 2010 Conferences. Refreshments will be served!

At the 2006 Louisville Conference, the Health & Safety Commission launched an initiative to create both online and printed resources to help USITT Members find information on Safety and Health topics. The purpose of this year's session is to report on progress made since the 2007 Phoenix Conference and plan how to proceed with this project for the coming year. Everyone is welcome to attend, and active participation will be greatly appreciated.

Battling the bulge, or diet roller-coastering? It could it be an addition to late hours and fast food. To learn how to make changes in life, or gain information on a healthy lifestyle, plan to attend this session. Two exercise physiologists will demystify the healthy lifestyle and show how to apply it to tech weeks, tight budgets, and long hours.

Second Health & Safety Commission meeting to finalize 2009 programming and to lay groundwork for 2010 and beyond. Refreshments will be served!

Saturday, March 22

The American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) instruction will include use of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) and related topics. Upon successfully completing the CPR Skills Test, participants will receive a course completion card. There is a $15 fee, a special discounted rate for USITT members. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.
