Commissions are groups of USITT members who share specific interests. The 10 Commissions are: Architecture, Costume Design & Technology, Education, Engineering, Health & Safety, Lighting Design & Technologu, Management, Scene Design & Technology, Sound Design & Technology, and Technical Production.
Commissions create the majority of the programming for the Annual Conference & Stage Expo and, through the Commissioner's Fund, support individual research projects. Examples of other activities are the annual Costume Symposium and publishing information such as the Recommended Practice for DMX, Lighting Portfolio Guidelines,
Mission
The function of the USITT Commissions is to conduct and encourage communication of and about shared interests of the membership by providing forums for professional growth through conference programming, by developing research projects, and by collecting and disseminating information.
