Joel E. Rubin Founder's Award

The honor was originally called the Founder's Award when it was first presented in 1970. It was renamed in honor of Dr. Joel E. Rubin, the second president of the Institute, as part of USITT's 40th anniversary celebration in 2000. Given to USITT members in recognition of outstanding and continued service to the Institute, the award was established in 1970 and is generally presented as an important part of the Annual Conference & Stage Expo.
