Advanced level classes in rigging and electrics June 13-14 in Denver are open for early registration through May 13. Save $50 by registering early! The cost for both two-day courses is $350 until May 14.

Advanced Level Rigging – Building Blocks of Stage Hoist Automation

Instructors: Eric Rouse, Lead Instructor, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, & ETCP Recognized Trainer; Peter Svitavsky, P.E., JR Clancy; Joe Champelli, Director of Mechanical Design, Entertainment Project Services, LLC; Paul Kelm, Automation Designer, iWeiss; and Gareth Conner, Founder, Creative Conners.

Topics: Mechanical Design Considerations, Electric Motor Control, Human Machine Interfaces and Control Networks, E-Stop Systems, Safety Protocols, and Applicable Codes for the Entertainment Industry.

Electrician Masterclass – Working Safely with Electricity

Instructors: Mitch Hefter, Philips Lighting, ETCP recognized trainer, ETCP Certified Electrician, IES representative to NEC Panel 15, Co-Chair ESTA Electrical Power Working Group, ESTA Technical Standards Council, and Ken Vannice, ETCP recognized trainer, ETCP Certified Electrician, USITT representative to NEC Panel 15, Co-Chair ESTA Electrical Power Working Group, ESTA Technical Standards Council.

Topics:  Review of electrical principles; Practical application of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70; Practical safe use of extension cords; Principles of overcurrent protection; Principles of grounding and bonding; Practical safe use of portable feeder systems including single conductor; Practical electrical safety in the workplace, NFPA 70E & OSHA, and a serious look at arc flash, the reason for lockout/tagout.
