USITT provides year-round opportunities for recognition and advancement through education, awards, mentorships, and funding.

  • USITT Presents: ETC at Fort Lauderdale: Three days of Family Console Training.

  • Wally Russell Professional Mentoring Award: Who Helped Get You Where You Are Today?

  • Young Technicains' Forum: brings together talented students with established shop heads, technician/artisans, and designers for a review and discussion of the student’s work.

  • Young Designers' Forum: brings together talented students with established designers and directors for a review and discussion of the student’s work.

  • Student Ambassador Program: opportunity for students to interact with renowned international designers and technicians who are attending the annual conference.

  • International Travel Grant: to provide USITT members with funding for international travel for advanced research and education in theatre related fields.

  • Stage Management Mentor Program: offers students and young professionals interested in stage management the opportunity to participate in a practical training experience.

  • Digital Poster Session: All submissions will be digital and displayed on touch screen monitors in a public space at the Conference.

  • Early Career Mentorship: USITT’s Fellows are offering an opportunity to two Early Career Members to meet one-on-one with a seasoned professional in their field of interest.

  • Young Designers, Managers, & Technicians Awards: in the Performing Arts, known throughout USITT as the YDMT Awards, bring recognition and support to young designers and technicians at the beginning of their careers.

  • LiNK: is Master's Candidates and Recruiters Connect.

  • Gateway Program: is a mentorship opportunity at the USITT National Conference for students from underrepresented populations within our industry.

  • Rising Star Award: to recognize the achievements of a young professional at the beginning of his or her career.

  • Rigging Safety Initiative: to provide free stage rigging inspections and safety training for secondary schools across America.

  • USITT/USA Prague Quadrennial 2019 Exhibit Design Competition: seeking conceptual design submissions for the National Exhibit and Emerging Artist Exhibit.
