For the second year in a row, USITT is promoting rigging safety with social media activism -- and asking you to help!
“We are celebrating Arbor Day April 29 as Rigging Safety Day,” said USITT Executive Director David Grindle. “We are asking people to share their support with the hashtag #RigSafe and let the world know we are committed to safe stages and safe working environments.”
The Institute also will be promoting two of its rigging safety programs – the Rigging Safety Initiative providing free rigging inspections and safety training for high school stages, and the Jay O. Glerum Rigging Master Classes launching in Denver June 13-14. The Glerum classes for entry level and advanced riggers will be held in a different location each year.
#RigSafe Day, the RSI, and the Glerum Master Classes serve USITT’s mission to instill best safety practices starting at the high school level and continuing through life-long learning and career advancement opportunities, Grindle said.
Support the cause by participating in #RigSafe Day on Arbor Day -- and please consider donating to USITT's rigging safety programs at www.usitt.org/rigsafe.
