Lighting Commission
Mission
The mission of the USITT Lighting
Commission is to serve the lighting profession by providing
a forum for dialogue and information relating to excellence
in lighting design, associated research and development,
and lighting design education.
Projects
The Lighting Commission is involved with
projects concerning both design and technology. They include:
- Recommended Practice for Theatrical
Lighting Design Graphics, USITT
RP-2 (revision 5), which is currently in the final review process;
- Light
Lab, a popular
venue at the Annual Conference & Stage Expo;
- Distinguished
Achievement Awards in Lighting Design. Recent
designers who have been honored include Allen
Lee Hughes, Beverly Emmons, Max Keller, and Richard
Pilbrow. Their designs have been the focus of sessions
during the Annual Conference.
