DONATE TODAY for SAFER SCHOOLS

The RSI is open to all secondary schools nationwide. Once a school's application is approved, they can choose from a list of certified participating rigging inspectors in their area. USITT pays the inspector directly for performing the inspection and four to six hours of safety training for faculty and student stage crew.

The only cost to schools may be for travel and housing of the inspector -- if necessary -- and any special equipment (such as a lift to access the system).  With USITT's nationwide network of certified inspectors, many schools will find their cost is ZERO.

The school will receive a detailed report in layman’s terms on the safety and health of their rigging. Schools will see what is working properly and what potential safety problems may be prevented with routine care.

In addition, schools receive four hours of safety training for up to eight faculty, staff, and students, on their rigging system -- ensuring that those supervising and operating the system have current knowledge on safe operation of a complex system.

What’s the catch? There isn’t one! Thanks to our sponsors & donors, the RSI promotes safe theatrical environments for students nationwide at little or no cost to the school.
