Statement: Our program focuses on the strengths and the goals of individual students. This allows us to focus on student life-experience and allows students to pursue special interests; We firmly believe in designers being competent technicians and scholars as they learn to become designers. Ours is a three year MFA with a professional internship in addition. All students realize a minimum of five actual productions in either the black box studio theatre or the main stage. Six main stage productions, 5 studio productions, a traveling children's show, and 2 yearly dance concerts give all students ample opportunity and variety. Our productions range from contemporary drama to classical theatre, musicals, children's theatre and modern dance. In addition, 4 summer productions are mounted annually offering summer employment possibilities. All graduate students in design are awarded paid assistantships.
