Statement: If you are planning a career as a designer for theatre or film, the Department of Design for Stage and Film at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts offers you the opportunity to study and live in the world's capital of the performing and visual arts, New York City. Through a series of carefully orchestrated studio courses, each student is allowed to develop individually as a designer over the course of the three-year program. The faculty of working designers guide students with knowledge gained from firsthand experience. Tisch design students are creative and intellectually curious; they have the skills to communicate both visually and verbally; they possess a passion for the performing and media arts; and they have a deep commitment to becoming professional designers.
