Statement: Courses offered Costume Technology, Introduction to Design, Graphics, Costume Design, History of Costume and Décor, Advanced Costume Technology: Corsets and Crinolines and Period Construction, Props and Costume Crafts, Makeup, Pattern Development, and Scenography. Our emphasis in the department is on learning. Although we have high standards for our productions, students` education comes first. That means that students have numerous opportunities to not only assist the faculty in designing productions, but to design full-scale productions themselves. The Studio Season is designated for 3-4 student directed and designed productions per year. And when qualified, students are allowed to design mainstage shows under faculty supervision. Also, across the department, we have a very strong, professionally active faculty and staff. We encourage our students to be professionally involved early in their careers and to network with professional organizations, summer jobs and internships.
