Ellen White - Outreach and Training Specialist  ETC, Inc.
Her twenty-five plus years of experience with ETC started with System Estimations (Quotations) and moved through Sales and Marketing as well as Product Development into her current position as part of the ETC Education Center. Currently as Outreach & Training Specialist for ETC, Ellen spends about 60% of her time on the road providing console training for ETC’s customers. She also helps develop training workbooks and videos for ETC’s control products.

Are you new to the Eos family of consoles and ready to hit the ground running with your first show?  Learn all the basics you will need to get started in our Essentials class.  This class will give you a solid foundation with the Eos family of consoles and prepare you to grow your knowledge as you are ready.

Target Audience: Anyone new to the Eos family of consoles and is looking to learn the basics.

Session Highlights:

  • Identify key elements of the console user interface and navigation
  • Patch conventional and multi-parameter fixtures
  • Work with channels in Live mode
  • Record, select, and delete groups
  • Record, play, and delete basic cues
  • Record to, load, and clear submasters
  • Create step-based effects
  • Understand the basics of working with a multi-parameter device (introductory concepts)

Are you a current Eos family console user who would like to better understand what the console is capable of?  Have you mastered the basics of the Ion and are you now ready to take your programming to the next level?  Are you ready to learn more about programming moving lights?  If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then the Level 2 Enhanced Skills class is right for you. 

Target Audience: Anyone who already has an Eos family product and is looking to learn more about their consoles.

It is highly recommended that you review Level 1 before attending this Level 2 class.

  • Patching multi-parameter fixtures
  • Working with scrollers, LEDs, and moving lights

Who should attend?

This class is intended for people who are well versed in Eos Family terminology, already know the layout of the desk, and are experienced conventional and intelligent fixture programmers. By the end of the class, users should be able to understand advanced storage and display techniques, data management philosophies, and arbitration between competing targets.

You must complete the Level 2 class BEFORE taking this advanced class.

What will you learn? 
Topics covered in this class include:

  • Advanced Patch features such as Copy to & Move to
  • Keywords in Patch and Query
  • Additional channel control such as Make Man, Make Null, Capture, and Fan
  • Filters and Snapshots
  • Multi-Part Cues
  • Multiple Cue Lists
  • Additional Cue Playback functions
  • Add Virtual Media Server (VMS) overview

Pay-by-Plate machines at surface lots are located within a 5-10 minute walk to Drake. The cost is $2.00 / hour.

The closest parking is immediately east of the building. The next best option is to the north, on the west side of Ohio Stadium. There are additional lots across the river on Olentangy River Rd. which can be accessed by the footbridge, located just north of the building.
