  • Professor Emeritus of Theatre with the University of Michigan  --taught from 1960 to 1988, costume designer for 130 productions including 25 Shakespeare plays, served as Acting Chair of Theatre and Director of University Players, department Affirmative Action representative and Executive Committee
  • Life Member of United Scenic ArtistsZelmaL
  • Resident designer for the Michigan Ensemble Theater
  • Designed costumes professionally both before and since University of Michigan
  • Founding Member of Academic Women's Caucus
  • Past President and Secretary of Women's Research Club
  • Lectured internationally, including a three-day symposium at Durham University, College of the Venerable Bede
  • Twice named delegate to China

Encouraging Emerging Professionals:

In addition to the Zelma H. Weisfeld Award for USITT,  I have also established a scholarships in Costume Design and Technology at Temple University and the Yale School of Drama.  And a scholarship in my name was created at the University of Michigan’s Department of Theatre.
