Vintage Costumes of the Chicago Vaudeville

  • By Mary Carol Friedrich and Valerie Lane
  • Published in Vol. 40 No. 3 (Summer 2004): 18
  • ABSTRACT: A trunk full of garments donated to the local Friends of Fashion organization provides costume designers with a rare opportunity to study the costumes actually worn by small-time Vaudeville performers in the early 1900s.
  • Note: A complete set of photos -- those published in the article as well as those not included due to space restrictions -- is available for those who may wish to study these costumes in more detail.
