The Clarence Brown Theatre seeks Technical Director to oversee technical operations and activities associated with the CBT and University of Tennessee’s Department of Theatre. TD ensures successful interpretation, engineering, realization, and safety of all scenic designs. Directly responsible for management and operation of scene shop and staff. Strong collaboration and solution orientated thinking needed. Oversees builds and strikes, budgeting, and scheduling. Facilitates technical rehearsals. Assists and mentors graduate design students. Serves as Safety Officer and ensures safe working environments. Work schedule includes weekend, night, and holiday hours.
Minimum Qualifications: MFA and 2 years technical theatre experience OR BA/BFA and 5 years technical theatre experience OR Equivalent Professional Technical Theatre Experience (10 years). Computer drafting, engineering, and rigging skills.
