The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) seeks an experienced sound designer for a full-time tenure-track appointment in the Theatre Design and Production (TD&P) Department beginning fall semester of 2019.

Duties include teaching courses in sound design at the BFA and MFA levels; executing or supervising sound design and/or reinforcement for all productions; mentoring BFA and MFA sound design students, and supervising graduate teaching assistants. Duties may also include supervising student crews; assisting other CCM programs and ensembles with sound reinforcement/design issues; and maintenance of inventories, equipment and venue systems. In addition, the faculty member will actively recruit for the Department and will serve on appropriate college and university committees.

Candidates should hold a master’s degree in sound design or equivalent and have a minimum of 3-4 years’ professional experience in theater sound. Previous teaching experience at the college level is preferred. The successful candidate should have expertise in creation of soundscapes, music composition, sound reinforcement and recording, front of house mixing or tour experience on large scale-musicals, working knowledge of current technology and software. Should be familiar with Audio networking systems and protocols such as DANTE, MADI and AVB.
