The Theater Department of the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, seeks a dynamic individual with broad professional experience in scenic design and a comprehensive understanding of design styles and aesthetics to serve as the head of the Set Design Program. The head of Set Design will oversee the scenic design of productions in the Theater Department and work collaboratively with the Dance and Music Departments as the school develops a school-wide production and design shop. The selected candidate will teach foundation courses in set design as well as seminars in advanced topics.  He or she will also be responsible for coordinating and scheduling visiting professionals and set designers, mentoring graduate and undergraduate design students, advising on productions, and designing shows as necessary.
