Position Description

Direct and manage the overall operation of theater technical services and facility maintenance and custodial services for the Hult Center for the Performing Arts.

Supervision Received and Exercised

Receives general direction from the Hult Center General Manager.

Exercises direct supervision over technical theater and facility operations staff. Supervises the Facility Maintenance Supervisor who oversees a custodial team of six in shifts ranging from 7AM to 1AM. Supervises Technical Services Department which includes an Assistant Technical directors and stagehand leads. Works with represented staff from two unions, IATSE and AFSCME.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Theater, Theater Operations Management, or closely related field(s).

 

Experience

A minimum of 4 years of increasingly responsible experience in technical theater production management, performing arts operations.  6 years or more of increasingly responsible experience in technical theater production management or performing arts operations preferred.  A minimum of 2 years of supervisory/management experience. 5 or more years of supervisory management experience preferred or

 

An equivalent combination of education experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential jobs duties.

License or Certificate

A valid Oregon driver’s license or, the ability to obtain by date of hire; must pass driving records check and, if hired, maintain a driving record that meets the City’s standard. Oregon law requires that an out-of-state license holder must obtain a valid Oregon license (with appropriate endorsements) within 30 days of becoming domiciled in the state (ORS 803.355).

 

IAVM Venue Management School, Graduate School or Certified Venue Professional (CVP) preferred.
