Assistant or Associate Professor of Theatre - Lighting Design
UNC Greensboro’s School of Theatre invites applicants who are experienced and engaged in advancing inclusivity in their teaching and professional practice for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor rank beginning August 1, 2021. Review of applications begins February 15, 2021 and continues until position is filled.
Responsibilities include teaching and advising undergraduate/graduate students and offering courses in lighting design, stage management, portfolio preparation, and other design technical theatre areas. Duties include mentoring of student lighting designers and stage managers and potentially designing lighting for productions. Candidates fluent in current workflows, software, and lighting systems and practiced in skillfully lighting diverse populations preferred. Candidates with strong drafting and projection skill sets highly desired. Base Salary: $55,000.
Minimum qualifications: MFA in Theatrical Design or equivalent professional experience, demonstrated professional achievement as lighting designer, and university-level teaching experience.
