Summary

The Department of Dramatic Art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in media and lighting design, to begin July 1, 2022. This position will teach in the graduate program in Technical Production and the undergraduate Drama major, for a total of 2 courses per semester, and participate in the creation of a Joint Minor in Media and Projection. The candidate will maintain a professional profile as a designer beyond UNC and design at least two shows for PlayMakers Repertory Company, our LORT D theatre within the Department, and/or the Kenan Theatre Company, our undergraduate production arm. Applicants should possess a Master of Fine Arts degree in Media and/or Lighting Design or equivalent professional experience, teaching experience at the college or university level, and two to three years of theatre design experience.
