Assistant Professor in Costume Technology
The University of Florida School of Theatre and Dance seeks an Assistant Professor in Costume Technology. This position is full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing, beginning August 16, 2020. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will possess: specializations in garment patterning, draping, fitting techniques, and costume crafts; established knowledge of historical period shaping & styles; experience with a wide variety of materials and professional costume construction methods. Preferred areas of experience include tailoring, millinery construction, wig maintenance, and stage makeup.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can effectively communicate and collaborate with designers, technicians, faculty, and professional staff to create exceptional learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate level costume students.
The School seeks an innovative thinker who can actively participate in and contribute to the greater learning community by exploring new connections through the arts and critical discourses in other disciplines. The ideal candidate would support and advance the College of the Art’s meta-narrative.
