The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University seeks an Assistant / Associate Professor of Lighting Design (Tenure Track or Professor of Practice), starting fall 2025. The new hire will join a dynamic faculty and internationally acclaimed program recently recognized among the top 25 drama programs in the world. We are dedicated to a collaborative and innovative approach to teaching undergraduate and graduate students that prioritizes contemporary professional standards in all casting, recruitment, classroom, and production environments. Responsibilities include: Teach graduate and undergraduate classes in lighting which may include topics related to design, Vectorworks, lighting technology, and programming; Advise students on realized production work; Recruit graduate students for MFA program; Participate in department season planning; Collaborate with Design, Technology, and Management Area in support of current initiatives and new developments.
• MFA in Theatre Design
• Extensive and active record of professional lighting design experience in regional and/or commercial theatre
• Strong Vectorworks Skills utilizing industry standard (Schematic, 3D, and Visualization)
