The Show Control Design Team is responsible for the development of show control and network systems that help to tell the stories of our live show offerings including parades, stage shows and special events on and off the Disney property, and on-board the Disney Cruise Line.

We are looking for an experienced individual with an innovative mind-set and a passion for Disney quality and Magical creativity. We are seeking a motivated individual who will ensure that the Disney standards are reflected consistently in all design & technical materials.


A Day in the Life…

• Supporting the Show Control Designers with project’s development and execution of show control
systems and network architectures for live shows and facility infrastructure, designing cohesive,
integrated systems for DLE shows, atmosphere, and park-wide control through the effective
execution of the creative process
• Providing technical skill in the development and implementation of concept, design, development,
support, and oversight of all show control, networking, automation, motor control, and
documentation related to any show system in use by a Disney Live Entertainment produced offering,
including stage shows, atmosphere, park-wide systems
• Utilizing a variety of programs including TAIT Navigator, Visual Studio, SSH, Beckhoff TC, and other
various development and controls software tools
• Assisting with design and technical research
• Partnering with cross-functional teams including designers, engineers, safety, production, and
facility teams
• Assisting with prioritization, organization, and problem-solving during installation, focus and cueing
through delivery of a variety of projects
• Attending and contributing at Disney Live Entertainment seminars and meetings

What we are looking for…

• Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Show Control/Network technology and equipment
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn new software applications as appropriate
• Familiarity with the Entertainment industry and a creative background
• Demonstrated proficiency with general computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel

Required Education:

• Junior, senior, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in or equivalent experience in the technical
aspects of show control, machine automation, or computer networking, with focus on live show

Internship Eligibility:

• At the time of application, must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the
semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated
from college within the past six months OR be currently participating in a Disney College Program or
Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Candidates must be fully available to work full time any time including days, nights, weekends, and
holidays for the duration of the internship
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work
• Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines

Program Length: The approximate dates of this 6-month internship are January 2024 through June 2024
