Lighting & Projection Designer
Manage all daily aspects of lighting, projection, and video operation and the coordination of technical elements for the VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education (PACE). Direct and supervise lighting and projection crews, as well as maintain the lighting, projection, and video equipment. The Lighting and Projection Director is responsible for supporting the artistic vision of the directors and designers as it relates to the advancement, budgeting, and realization of lighting and projection designs.
Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Design, Lighting, or a related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
Five years of experience in design and implementation of theatrical lighting at a professional or educational performing arts center.
Ability to read, interpret, and hang from designer drawings with experience in lighting implementation of large scale musicals, and orchestras.
Working understanding of the operations of carpentry/rigging, sound mixing/reinforcement, projection, props and costumes.
Significant experience with and detailed knowledge of current theatrical lighting and projection technology.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
