Summary

• Oversee all aspects of the costume department onboard, including, but not limited to maintenance of all Production Company costumes, wigs, shoes, backstage dressing, laundry, costume props (if applicable) and communication to onboard management and shore side.
• Responsible for the overall organization, cleanliness, repair and maintenance of all costume pieces, costume care equipment, Cosmo Department, and Dressing Rooms for the Mainstage Shows, Bumpers, and entertainment events including theme nights and Cruise Programs Costumes.
• Participate in Socializing, Sea Day activities, Night Duties, and other duties as assigned.
• Wash and maintain assigned Cruise Staff and Youth Staff Costumes. These include but are not limited to Circus Costumes, Ocean Music Fest Costumes, Themed Party Costumes, Christmas Costumes, other Themed events around the vessel.
• To consistently exceed guest expectations and provide the highest levels of product and services, additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
• Assume personal responsibility for safety and NCLH’s impact upon the environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Theatrical Costuming or Theatrical management preferred, or any equivalent combination of relevant and work-related skills and experience.
• Minimum 2 years costume shop management in theatrical costume building and alteration, OR
• Minimum 2 years of experience as wardrobe supervisor or assistant on tour or in summer stock companies, OR
• Minimum 2 years of cruise ship experience as wardrobe supervisor or theatrical wardrobe stitcher.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Expertise in theatrical alteration, pattern making, draping, hand and machine sewing, washing, dying, millinery, craft building and repair, dressing, backstage track creation, quick changes, shoe repair, wig maintenance, foam character maintenance.
• Training of over-hire dressers.
• Advanced level of English verbal and writing skills.
• Understanding of theatrical wardrobe practices and principles.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
• Sound problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, and stress management.
• Work well with different personalities and nationalities within the cast and crew.
• Outgoing personality, open minded and flexible.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of computer skills including Word, Excel, Monday.com, Microsoft Teams.
