Production Technician (Lighting Specialist)
The Production Technician (Lighting Specialist) works closely with the Technical Director, the Director of Lighting, and other production personnel to provide both specialized technical support for lighting related functions and general support of production logistics for all New World Symphony activities both locally and on tour, as well as for all third-party rental events at the New World Center. A bachelor’s degree or higher in theatrical production or related field or a combination of equivalent education and relevant experience. Minimum of three years of theatrical experience, at a music school, orchestra, other performing arts organization, or with a touring company. Expert knowledge and demonstrated advanced experience with high-end lighting equipment and systems. Working knowledge of various video projection systems and audio equipment mechanical staging, rigging and screen systems, and sound reinforcement. Working knowledge of three-phase power and related systems. Valid drivers’ license; ability to drive a manually operated truck with a lift gate.
