Summary

Western Michigan University Department of Theatre is seeking a Supervisor of Lighting. Preferred start date Nov 1, 2023 -- some flexibility possible. This is a ten-month position (mid August – mid June) with generous year-round benefit package.

Responsibilities include:

Serve as Production Master Electrician and Lighting Supervisor for assigned student electricians on all theatre and dance productions; Develop and teach lighting sections in three levels of Stagecraft classes; Provide effective on-going maintenance of all lighting equipment; Participate as a member of the Design and Technical Production Area in establishing and promoting the work of the area.

The Department of Theatre has 17 full-time faculty and staff, 6 adjunct professors, 200 majors, and is accredited by NAST. It is a vibrant, undergraduate only, competitive-entry program that highly values collaboration. The Department of Theatre offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with emphases in acting, design/ technical production, arts administration, stage management, and music theatre.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
