Technical Director and Scene Shop Foreperson
The Georgia College Department of Theatre and Dance is seeking a Technical Director who manages, supervises, and oversees all technical aspects of the department. The Technical Director is responsible for supporting the artistic vision of directors and designers as it relates to the budgeting, scheduling, construction, and realization of set, lighting, projection, and sound designs. B.A. in Theatre or related area of expertise and 5 years of experience in an educational or professional theatre setting or related field of experience, OR Master's degree in Technical Theatre.
Interest and ability to work with students and to maintain a cooperative work environment. Evening and/or weekend work will be required. Driver’s License needed. Duties include 40 hours a week and some evenings and weekends, especially as being present with the students in production/performance during tech weekend is essential.
