Technical Director/Facilities Manager
The School of Music and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites applications for a Technical Director/Facilities Manager beginning immediately.
This is a (12 month) staff position, with some teaching. The Program typically produces two to three mainstage Theatre productions, two Dance shows, and supports the UL Opera’s two productions, each year.
Responsibilities include managing the construction and execution of scenery, lighting, sound, and properties design for departmental productions, upkeep on production spaces and assets, supervising paid and unpaid student work crews, and teaching stagecraft and practicum classes each semester. Professionalism and collegiality, with excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of/demonstrated expertise in technical direction, scenic carpentry, electrics, rigging, and sound, CAD and other design programs. Preferred qualifications include MFA in Design or Technical Direction, Theatre teaching at the college level, and 2+ years of professional experience.
