Theatre Studies - Comedy Arts Full-Time Faculty
The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago invites applications for a full-time term appointment in Comedy Arts beginning Fall 2020 (one year contract, renewable annually). We seek a teacher with broad experience in comedy, passionate about teaching and collaborating to re-shape our conservatory for the future of stage, screen, and new media.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching across a variety of settings will be considered.
Candidates must possess a current, recognized, professional practice in comedy. We will consider candidates with extensive professional experience equivalent to having a terminal degree, and/or an MFA/Ph.D. Courses, determined by a combination of the School’s needs and candidate’s expertise, may include: Improvisation, Sketch Comedy, Physical Comedy, Directing Comedy, History of Comedy, Comic Styles. Ability to teach in the Theatre Studies curriculum is valued. Faculty advise, serve on committees, and direct. Excellent mentoring skills and cultural competency are required.
