USITT is the home for OISTAT (International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians) in the United States.
OISTAT serves as the international association of scenography and performance space design. Connecting organizations around the world, OISTAT has long been a conduit of information for theatre artists when governmental relations are tense.
USITT has member liaisons to the OISTAT commissions and working groups to help disseminate the information being worked on at any time.
Some notable projects for OISTAT include the Digital Theatre Words library allowing people to know the terms used for specific theatre equipment from one nation to the next.
OISTAT has also recently published two volumes of World Scenography detailing designs worldwide from 1970-2005.
Seminars and symposiums are held worldwide under the auspices of OISTAT.
With headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan, all members of USITT receive member benefits in OISTAT.
