NASHVILLE, TN - This past fall, Bandit Lites had the joy - and the jam-packed challenge - of supporting the brilliant, genre-bending Jon Batiste on his dynamic tour. With Batiste’s performances blurring the lines between concert, theatre, and full-blown art installation, Bandit delivered a lighting system designed to match every soulful swell, explosive groove, and spontaneous moment of magic.
Partnering with Production Manager Chris Patterson and the tour’s creative force, Lighting Designer Nesta Garrick, Bandit supplied a carefully curated rig full of color, motion, and character. Nesta, known for sculpting light like an artist works with paint, crafted a world that moved with Batiste’s boundless energy - fluid, emotional, and beautifully unpredictable.
The rig featured:
- 8x 50’ Chauvet LED Festoons for warm ambiance and vintage charm
- 12x Acme Pixel Line IP 1000mm to draw crisp, kinetic lines of light across the stage
- 8x Chauvet Maverick MK3 Spots delivering big looks and bold beams
- 46x Chauvet Colorado PXL Curve 12 for sweeping arcs of color and immersive floor-based visuals
- 2x grandMA3 Light consoles for flexible, powerful control
- 4x Master FX Mystic Minis adding ethereal, atmospheric sparkle
