AUDIX Unveils The Wireless MicroBoom MBW Line: Transforming Stage & Choir Miking With Unprecedented Freedom, Simplicity And Performance

Wilsonville, OR — AUDIX, the designer and manufacturer of premium professional microphones, announces the introduction of its new Wireless MicroBoom ™ (MBW) condenser microphone line.  A forerunner of AUDIX’s new digital wireless ecosystem while building upon the success of the company’s popular MicroBoom™ range, this new range provides a transformative approach to stage and choir miking, by combining plug-and-play simplicity, seamless stage transitions, and complete freedom of movement in a sleek, wireless format, with superior performance which is indistinguishable from wired versions. The new MBW line has been designed to be a performance enabler for a wide range of applications including choirs, houses of worship, vocal ensembles, theater and stage productions, orchestras, acoustic groups, locating recording, presentations, broadcast, sports, and live events.

The MBW line simplifies stage logistics without compromising reliability or pristine sound quality, enabling faster setups and simplified workflows, along with quick stage changeovers between sets without the concern of tripping over cables. In addition, with their slim and discreet design, MBW microphones blend in and result in reduced stage clutter, improving visibility for live audiences and camera crews. MBW microphones are notable for their plug-and-play simplicity and wireless compatibility, working with standard 5V wireless bodypack transmitters, including those from AUDIX and others, making life easier for both performers and technicians. They are ready to deploy with minimal setup, no inline phantom power supply is needed.

The Wireless MicroBoom line features several configurations, designed for varying staging requirements. The new Wireless MicroBoom microphone line includes the 50” MBW50B and MBW50BHC and the 84” MBW84B and MBW84BHC offering two choices of reach and options for cardioid and hypercardioid polar patterns to provide flexibility in staging placement and performance capture.  The cardioid MBW50B and MBW84B are designed for precision audio capture in environments with minimal environmental noise. The hypercardioid MBW50B and MBW84BHC are designed for focused audio capture in reverberant and noisy environments, offering superior noise rejection acoustically difficult venues. With their increased reach, the MBW84 models are optimal for capturing larger groups and ensembles and for use where mounting from a distance is required. Frequency response for the new MBW line is 50Hz -19kHz with a dynamic range of 95 dB. Click here for a full list of specs.

For original MicroBoom customers, AUDIX is also offering the M1370B Retrofit Kit which provides those models with a cost-effective upgrade to wireless. The kit includes the M1370B miniature condenser mic, which requires 5V power and is available in cardioid (M1370B) and hypercardioid (M1370BHC) options.

Mounting options include a MBWCLIP which connects to the base of the current carbon fiber boom or a MBWFLEX that can be used on any standard mic stand. The models are lightweight, with the MBW50B weighing 5oz and the MBW84B weighing 6oz, which reduces strain and improves portability.

“By removing physical limitations and simplifying stage logistics, the new MicroBoom wireless microphone line redefines how houses of worship, choirs, and stage productions engage with their audiences,” says Steve Young, AUDIX Director of Sales. “The MBW line answers their call for portable, easy-to-deploy sound solutions without sacrificing clarity or reliability.”

The AUDIX MicroBoom line is available now from authorized AUDIX retailers worldwide.
