Celestion To Showcase Breakthrough LensGuide™ Technology At InfoComm 2026

Las Vegas, NV— At this year’s InfoComm 2026, Celestion, the premier manufacturer of professional loudspeakers and compression drivers for sound reinforcement applications, will showcase its groundbreaking new LensGuide™ technology. Visitors are invited to experience Celestion’s latest pro audio innovations in the North Hall at Booth N6476.

The main feature of the Celestion exhibit will be a demonstration of the LensGuide technology, showcasing a bespoke design that evenly covers an impressive 180 degrees. This unique LensGuide will be displayed on a rotating stand, allowing attendees to fully experience its extraordinary, ultra-wide dispersion capabilities and off-axis performance firsthand.

The LensGuide technology works by addressing the flaws inherent in conventional waveguide and high-frequency horn designs. Historically, system designers have been forced into a compromise to solve acoustic limitations, often having to choose between a solution that provides controlled directivity with a poor frequency response, or a smooth frequency response with limited directivity control.

By deploying Celestion LensGuide technology, system designers can tailor dispersion and directivity to their exact application without compromising either frequency response or directivity control.

Sculpting the Single Parameter Wavefront

The technology utilises an advanced, unique, and patented mathematical design methodology to produce internal corrugations that precisely increase individual acoustic path lengths. This intricate internal architecture allows sound waves to be routed, turned, focused, dispersed, manipulated, combined, and controlled without damaging the desirable properties of the single parameter wavefront.

LensGuide design is highly versatile and can be modified for use in a variety of controlled directivity applications. For example, a 100° dispersion horn utilises the technology to create many thinly separated, corrugated channels that seamlessly convert rectangular single parameter waves into cylindrical waves with very wide, well-controlled dispersion. This enables incredibly wide dispersion angles while retaining an excellent frequency response.

Unrivaled Acoustic Performance
The acoustic advantages of the LensGuide are immediately apparent in application. An exceptionally coherent cylindrical wavefront avoids vertical interference lobes when arrayed, delivering significantly improved intelligibility. Furthermore, the technology reduces undesirable “horn-like” resonances, extending the high-frequency response for an overall more natural sound. Ultimately, the preservation of the single parameter wavefront greatly enhances directivity and provides a dramatically smoother off-axis response.

“The application of sculpted corrugations and the advanced methods used to calculate them are what set LensGuide apart from traditional designs,” says Paul Cork, Celestion Head of Engineering. “By accurately controlling the acoustic path length, we can manipulate the sound waves without damaging the desirable properties of the single parameter wavefront. This provides system designers the unprecedented ability to tailor dispersion and directivity to their exact application, delivering an exceptionally coherent output that is smooth and consistent”.
