Foundation for Stage Managers Announces Spring 2025 Grants

Grants have been awarded to six individuals and one theater company
(May 16, 2025 – New York, NY) The Foundation for Stage Managers (FSM) is pleased to announce the selection of a theater and six individuals to receive monetary grants in the Foundation’s fifth grant cycle.
Grants have been awarded to:
- Opera Columbus (Ohio): for partial funding of additional training for a stage manager, enabling that SM to be hired in a full-time position at the theater.
- Maxwell Allen (Virginia) and Hannah Hahn (Ohio): for partial funding of the expenses of attending the Event Training Academy.
- Melissa Garber (New York): to fund a research project exploring the mental health of stage managers throughout production. The grant covers the creation and distribution of an online survey, as well as fees to submit the study’s results for open-access publication and presentation at stage management-related conferences.
- Makayla Eneboe (Arizona): for partial funding of the expenses of attending a stage management training course with Cirque du Soleil.
- Casey Prowell (Texas): to fund the expenses of attending an Intimacy Training course.
- Miranda Vasquez (California): for partial funding of the expenses of attending the Broadway Stage Management Symposium.
FSM’s mission is to support stage managers by providing funds for continuing career education and development, and for public events that enhance stage management skills. The Foundation awards grants twice per year - a total of 20 small grants have been announced since its founding in 2022. The next grant cycle will take place in the fall of 2025.
