Mountain View, CA—frame:work, the community for live pixel people that has been organizing conferences, meetups, and the New Talent List through countless volunteered hours since 2019, today announces the next step: a professional society for our community, built by our community.
The new framework.video website is live and membership is open.
“Twenty+ years ago, video was an accent piece on the stage,” explains frame:work executive director Laura Frank. “Today it is the stage. And yet the people who design, build, and run those surfaces—the creatives, technologists, and producers of creative video—still fight for a place in the pre-production conversation.”
That's what frame:work membership is for: centering this community as the engine room that drives the experience economy. Membership comes with the infrastructure this field has never had:
- Listing Member Directory: A listing in the member directory puts your name, your skills, and your work where this industry actually looks. Producers staff from it. Peers refer to it. Be known & get found.
- Community Gatherings: Members receive discounts to all events. The annual conference and regional meetups are where this community does some of its best work. No victory laps—just people showing each other how the work actually gets done.
- Mentorship: Members can register as community mentors. Nobody learned this work from a manual. Someone showed you, on a job, probably under pressure. Mentorship makes that transfer deliberate—members guiding new talent and each other, so the knowledge this field runs on keeps moving.
- Discussion Forum: Anyone can join our Discord. Members get private channels. The conference happens once a year. The Discord happens all the time. Jobs get posted, questions get answered, advice gets offered, and problems get solved in public—usually by someone who hit the same wall last month.
- Event Calendar: Members can post events to a community calendar. A shared calendar for: training, meetups, trade shows, and the gatherings that spring up around them. The kind of knowledge that used to live in a hundred separate heads, kept by the community, for the community.
There's no set formula for picking a plan—no income threshold, no years-served requirement, no test. The tiers are suggestions, not gates. Choose what fits your relationship to frame:work today and move as that relationship grows:

From Board Member Sarah Cox, “This is a genuinely exciting next chapter for frame:work. Membership is open, and it's open at every stage of a career and that part matters. Growth was never the number. It's whether people feel they belong here and can contribute and feel that what they know is worth sharing or help someone looking for advice. Everyone has something to teach and something to learn, and membership is how we make room for that support and growth across our pixel community.”
Check the Membership Benefits page for full details of our program, then head to the Become A Member page and pick the tier that fits.
