Meyer Sound Powers All Five Tony Nominees In Best Sound Design Of A Musical

The 2026 Tony Award nominations for Best Sound Design of a Musical share an extraordinary distinction: All four nominated designers have chosen Meyer Sound for their productions. Kai Harada (Cats: The Jellicle Ball and Ragtime), Adam Fisher (The Lost Boys), Brian Ronan (Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show), and Walter Trarbach (Schmigadoon!) each bring a singular vision to the Broadway stage, and each trusted Meyer Sound in their system design.

The nominated productions span the full breadth of Broadway storytelling, from groundbreaking new works to beloved revivals. Intimate productions and large-scale spectacles alike reflect a commitment to sonic excellence, and each designer has trusted Meyer Sound to deliver on some of the world’s most demanding theatrical environments.

“To see every nominee in this category working with Meyer Sound is a humbling testament to the trust these designers place in our tools and our team,” says John Monitto, Meyer Sound’s director of business development. “Kai, Adam, Brian, and Walter are among the best in the business, and we’re proud to be part of the work they’re bringing to Broadway audiences this season.”

The nominations underscore Meyer Sound’s deep roots in live theatrical sound. Broadway productions demand exceptional clarity, emotional nuance, and consistency eight shows a week, often in venues that were never designed for amplified sound. That leading designers continue to turn to Meyer Sound across such a diverse range of productions speaks to both the reliability of the technology and the strength of those creative relationships.

Meyer Sound extends its congratulations to Harada, Fisher, Ronan, and Trarbach along with the full creative teams behind each production, on their nominations. The 79th Annual Tony Awards will take place Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Radio City Music Hall, airing live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
