SAN ANTONIO, TX — O2 Theatrical Systems today announced its official launch as a full-service theatrical equipment dealer and ETC Authorized Service Center, serving K–12 schools, performing arts centers, universities, and houses of worship across Texas. Founded and led by industry veterans John Owens Jr. and his father John Owens Sr., O2 combines multigenerational roots in the theatrical industry with a commitment to hands-on expertise and responsive statewide service.
The company's name reflects its founding story: O2 stands for Two Owens. John Jr. 's career has spanned production work as a Stage Manager and Technical Director in venues across Texas and on tour through Europe, followed by senior commercial roles including Senior Regional Sales Manager and Consultant Partnership Manager. John Sr. spent his entire career in theatrical systems and retired as Vice President of Sales at Texas Scenic Company. He now serves as Senior Executive Advisor and Chairman of O2's Advisory Board.
"This industry has been part of our family for as long as I can remember," said John Owens Jr. "I grew up watching my dad serve schools, theaters, consultants, and contractors across Texas. As two industry veterans, it felt right to build something of our own together. Our customers are who this is for, and we're committed to being the partner they can count on."
O2 is proud to open with an authorized dealer lineup anchored by Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC). In addition to representing ETC as an authorized dealer, O2 is an ETC Authorized Service Center with a trained team positioned to deliver preventive maintenance, repairs, and system support to facilities across Texas.
"We at ETC are looking forward to working with O2 Theatrical Systems," said Rob Raff, ETC South Territory Sales Manager. "Their knowledge of the industry and generations of experience are exactly what we need to successfully support our customers in Central Texas."

O2 has also assembled a portfolio of category-leading partners including Thern Stage Equipment's full product offering, Rose Brand for soft goods and drapery, and ADC for track and curtain machines. O2 works closely with the design teams who specify equipment on projects and is structured to be a responsive resource at every stage of the specification, procurement, installation, and service lifecycle.
"Schools and venues don't just need equipment. They need a partner who shows up when something breaks, who deeply knows the product, and who thoroughly understands what the project is trying to accomplish," John Owens Sr. said. "That's what O2 is built to be."
