PPL Center Unveils State-Of-The-Art Videoboards By GoVision

AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms raise the bar for game-day entertainment with massive center-hung, ribbon board and marquee LED displays

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA– Fans of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms were treated to a stunning upgrade in their game-day experience with the debut of a cutting-edge center-hung videoboard designed and installed by GoVision LLC.

The four-sided LED centerpiece – featuring a pair of sideline displays measuring 22.97’ by 24.6’ and twin 22.97’ by 22.97’ endline boards comprised of 3,024 individual 3.9mm LED tiles – is bigger, brighter and sharper than the board that has served the arena since its grand opening in September 2014.

With nearly 2,200 square feet of LED panels, it’s almost twice the footprint of the original display, and delivers more than three times the picture detail, with 13.3 million pixels engineered for ultra-high-definition clarity. The “edgeless” design incorporates next-generation technology to create a seamless, immersive viewing experience from any seat that matches or surpasses the LED technology in many NHL arenas.

“Our relationship with GoVision has been outstanding from the very beginning,” said Jim Brooks, Co-Owner and Governor of the Phantoms.“The new state-of-the-art LED center-hung, ribbon display and marquee boards are perfect examples of their expertise and attention to detail. GoVision continues to be a trusted partner that truly understands our vision for enhancing the fan experience."

In addition to the center-hung board, GoVision installed an LED ribbon board with 10mm panels measuring 2.95’ high by 859.58’ wide. A pair of 10mm marquee displays, measuring 15.75’ high by 6.3’ wide, complete the PPL Center’s comprehensive video upgrade.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on this new LED display project,” said GoVision Senior Vice President Matt Ritter, who also helped construct the original board. “This new equipment ensures the Phantoms remain on the cutting edge of technology, delivering the energy and excitement their fans deserve every night.”

The multi-screen installation raises the bar for the fan-viewing experience of live action, replays and game-day graphics at the PPL Center and reinforces its reputation as one of the premier venues in the American Hockey League.
