The USITT28 Main Stage is our home base for attendees, where crowds gather to bring entertainment, award acceptances, conversations, and new technology launches to life — and we want you to help us manage it.
The Carolyn A. Satter Production Management Mentorship Program (PMMP) supports an individual who has begun their professional career as a production manager in live entertainment by providing the chance to manage events and connect with a fellow production manager mentor at our Annual Conference & Stage Expo in Kansas City, MO, March 15-18, 2028.
"I’m already bringing back knowledge, experience, and skills to the local non-profit community theatre I production manage with in Montana.," said Kaylee LaClair, USITT26's PMMP recipient, "By being able to share opportunities and education PMMP has given me, I am helping others develop strong theatre in communities where it is needed most."
As part of the program, the selected mentee will join the Conference Event Production Team, serving as an integral lead in producing Main Stage and Expo Stage events. The participant will work directly with the Event Producer, Artistic Director, and Technical Producer, while also connecting with Main Stage talent and presenters across events like Opening Night, Awards, Awards, Awards, and DAAs in Conversation.
This hands-on experience offers a behind-the-scenes look at how USITT produces one of the largest live entertainment gatherings in the country. Participants will expand their skills in large-scale event management, grow their professional network, and gain valuable real-world experience in production management.
The selected mentee will also be paired with an established production manager who will provide guidance throughout the Conference and continue as a mentor for a year beyond.
