Claypaky Fixtures Shine At Aditya Gadhvi’s Jio World Garden Concerts In Mumbai

Lighting Designer Jasangat Sonpal chose a large complement of Claypaky lighting fixtures for Aditya Gadhvi’smassive two-day concert series, April 25 and 26, at the Jio World Garden in the Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, India.

Equipment rental house Light N Light, also in Mumbai, provided a big array of Claypaky fixtures for the event.  They included 70 Claypaky Sharpy X Frame hybrid beam and spot or wash lights; 48 HY B-Eye K15 and 16 K25 LEDbeam/wash/effects lights; 16 high-powered Tambora Battens, 16 Arolla Aqua high performance, compact moving heads with wide creative scope; and 16 Rhapsodya low-noise, multispectral RGBAL LED fixtures.

Gadhvi headlined at the upscale complex, which has fast become India’s premier location for world-class events of all kinds.  Jio World Garden is the site’s premium open-air turfed venue featuring a stunning landscape, water fountains and lotus ponds.

The high-energy concert showcased Gadhvi’s signature blend of contemporary and Gujarati folk music, with thousands of fans attending to hear a mix of popular tracks and live favorites.

Sonpal is a longtime proponent of Claypaky lighting.  He used the fixtures to frame the stage and top the IMAG screens where they sent beams into the audience and night sky.  A central circular pod rimmed with lights also highlighted the artist’s performance.

Sharpy X Frames were particularly dominant in Sonpal’s rig.  They are a groundbreaking multifunction hybrid fixture which combines an innovative four-focal plane shutter system with the best features of the customer-favorite Sharpy line. This powerful fixture is housed in a lightweight, compact design delivering exceptional performance in a versatile and portable package that packs a big punch.

“Gadhvi’s show was the fifth tour in a row where I have preferred Claypaky over the competition,” Sonpal says.  “I think that speaks volumes about my likes and preferences when it comes to lighting fixtures.”

In particular, he says the Arolla Aquas are “great both as key lights and effect lights.”  In addition, he declares that “Claypaky washes have been my go-to fixtures for years, and even after using them so often I don’t see any change in output which is amazing.”
