The Barbara Matera Award for Costume Making recognizes a current graduate student or an early career professional (within two years after graduation) who is an exceptional costume technician.

This award was established by award sponsor Judy Adamson in 2013 to honor her mentor, by recognizing young costumers.

Winners of this award receive a $1,000 & Conference registration for USITT Conference & Stage Expo. Awards are presented at USITT Conference & Stage Expo.
