Richard Hay Undergraduate Scene Design Award

Candidates for the Richard Hay Undergraduate Scene Design Award will display a strong sense of design aesthetics and competency in a wide variety of scenic design related skills. Candidates will demonstrate a strong execution of artistic and technical ability and display competency in the design process and the realized production. Materials submitted may include, but are not limited to drafting, rendering, model construction, color theory, visual research, conceptual development, etc. Required materials should demonstrate the designer’s competency in both the design process and the execution of the realized production. Supplemental materials are optional and should further demonstrate advancements in design, technology, or other areas to further support the designer’s skill.

Winners of this award receives a $1,000 & Conference registration for USITT Conference & Stage Expo.  Awards are presented at USITT Conference & Stage Expo.
