The Gallo Center for the Arts is a multi-venue road house that serves primarily as a presenting and rental venue in addition to collaborating with several community partner organizations and providing production support for the in-house produced works of our youth and repertory companies. The Assistant Head Electrician is primarily responsible for acting as the lead lighting technician for our secondary space the Foster Family Theatre, our 444 seat proscenium theatre. They will additionally serve as an assistant to the department head, and fill in as needed in the lead venue, the Mary Stuart Rogers theatre which is our 1248 seat proscenium venue. The position is responsible for day to day operation and maintenance of all aspects of the venues lighting systems including, but not limited to, console programming, busking and design work, follow spot instruction and calling, moving light and conventional repair and maintenance, and supervision of lighting department personnel.
Minimum:
- 4 years of lighting and/or electrician experience
- Proficient with ETC Eos family of consoles (Eos and Ion in-house)
- Proficient with the maintenance and operation of conventional, LED, and moving lights
- Experience with live design, busking playback, and real-time cueing for production runs
- Strong staff supervisory and crew training skills
Recommended:
- Bachelors or Masters in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience
- Proficient with Avolites and/or Grand MA consoles (Tiger Touch II in-house)
- Experience with touring productions, road house work, and rental client management
- Experience with interdepartmental collaboration and rental client management
