Summary

The School of Theatre in the College of Arts and Architecture at the Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Lighting Supervisor at the clinical lecturer level. This is a one-year, non-tenure line, 9-month position. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2025.

The Penn State School of Theatre is home to BFA degrees in Theatre Design and Technology (with options in all design disciplines), Stage Management, Musical Theatre, and Acting; a BA in Theatre; and an MFA in Theatre (with Scenic Design, Costume Design, Costume Technology, Music Direction, and Musical Theatre Directing emphases).

Requirements

Candidates should possess either an MFA or an undergraduate degree with significant professional experience. The ideal candidate will have ETCP certification. This position requires a working knowledge of all aspects of theatrical lighting technologies including experience with a variety of luminaires, dimming and power distributions systems, control systems, LED technologies, and related electrical theory and practical skill. Proficiency in relevant industry-standard software packages (VectorWorks, Lightwright ETC EOS, Networking etc.) is expected. The ideal candidate should be prepared to implement and enforce safety protocols including Aerial Lifts/Ladders, fall protection, fall prevention, and regular inspection of safety and rigging equipment to ensure a safe working environment for all.
