About the position:
USITT is seeking to grow our Engagement Team with a forward-facing, detail-oriented person to assist in handling incoming Member enquiries, processing Membership, Annual Conference registration, and other important processes that contribute to accurate record keeping. Position will initially report to the Director of Engagement, but will transfer to the Sr. Manager of Member Services, who is currently on leave.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer telephone and website inquiries regarding general membership and/or registration questions, including assisting members with renewals as well as providing website login assistance to members (generally includes login credential renewal, password reset, navigation assistance)
- Provide registration assistance to Members and Attendees of the Conference via phone, email, etc
- Assist in creating discount codes and communicating unique registration instructions per supervisor’s instructions
- Assist in verifying membership status and administering approvals process for Student Chapters and Conference Assistants
- Data entry including updating member profiles, preparing documents and reports per supervisor’s instructions.
- Assist in scheduling meetings
- Provide assistance to Membership team in responding to inquiries and requests from Regional Section Leadership
- Provide assistance to Membership and Database Assistant in generating data pulls for mailing lists, TD&T (our quarterly journal) mailings, events, programs, and integrations.
Status - Contractor:
This position will be staffed as a contractor and will be required to sign USITT’s contractual agreement to cover the term of the contract.This position is for 20-25-hours per week with a finite termination date. The term of the contract, regardless of start date, will end on April 3, 2026. There is the potential for the position to become a permanent hired employee of USITT, however, permanency will be dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, institutional fit, job performance, and budgetary considerations.
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation for this position is an hourly rate in the range of $17.00 - $18.50 and does not include any employer-paid benefits. Temporary and part-time positions are not eligible for holiday pay or payment for days when the office is closed.
There will be no taxes withheld or any deductions taken from the gross compensation. An invoice should be submitted to the Finance Department on the 1st and 15th of each month, and payment will be made via an ACH electronic deposit within 5 days after receipt of the invoice. A tax Form 1099 will be issued in January 2026 for the gross compensation received in calendar year 2025.
Location and Work Hours
The position will work from USITT’s National Office in Liverpool, NY. Employees will work 20-25 hours per week within the set schedule of the National Office (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time). The actual work schedule will be determined by your supervisor. If chosen, the candidate should be available to start immediately.
