The Department of Theater and Dance at University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a lecturer to teach courses in Costume Design and History of Period Styles during the 2025-2026 Academic Year. Courses are undergraduate in nature and may include Costume Design, Costume Technology, Rendering, Costume History, Period Styles, and/or mentoring of student designers, dependent on the candidates strengths and specialties. Two years of teaching and/or professional experience in the field are Basic Qualifications required, and selection criteria will include a thorough review of the applicants’ CV’s and portfolios to evaluate whether they have the minimum qualifications for the position. Committee members will then review the cover letter, CV, and portfolio to evaluate efficacy of teaching and mentorship as well as the quality of their professional work and experience.
